Research into audience figures and what films are popular in your genre and why

From researching into most popular action films I have found that 'The Dark Knight' is the most popular. After reading reviews across 4 different websites its rating given by the public on average  is above nine out of 10.

The film was given a budget of $185,000,000 to make by warner brothers, a global leading mainstream production company. In the opening weekend in the UK it made whopping  £11,191,824 (UK).

Relating this back to our film, I believe we can look at this film and use it to benefit our film. We can take key generic action icons used in this film into our own film. For example the iconic black clothing.
